3FE: Lock The Job – I Just Can’t Get A Job

Are you tired?  Have you been looking, and looking, and looking for a job with absolutely no luck?  Have you now arrived at the point of hopelessness?  Do you go to people with your head held low, begging, “Mann, I need a job!  Can you please, please, please just get me a job?”

Have you arrived at the end?

Don’t give in to failure.  Don’t give up to lost opportunity. Don’t resign yourself to a fate that you don’t want to claim, for there are always possibilities.  And just to be clear we must differentiate between an opportunity and a colossal fraud.  There are always opportunities, possibilities, but you must beware because some opportunities are designed to take advantage of you, and rob you of your dignity, your pride, and of course the last bit of your hard earned money.

Just this week on the news a couple was being interviewed who spent their last bit of money driving to what they believed was an opportunity for a job in construction in Missouri.  They were responding to an ad on Craigslist.  The job, offered by a subcontractor called Black Sparta LLC. promised two years of work. When they arrived in Missouri, there was of course no job, nothing. 

This is just the tip of the iceberg.  If you use critical thinking skills and your own personal power of discernment you can insulate yourself form harm. It’s okay to spend money on opportunity, on hope.  In fact, you must do this if you’re to make a change and prepare yourself to lock the job. The question is what will you spend your money on, and are you ready to use what you learn to maximum effectiveness? 

You can get a job.  This is without question.  You can compete against others seeking the same job, and you can win.   We simply need to answer some very fundamental questions.  What can you do? Have you done enough? 

What steps have you taken to Lock The Job … consider it before you answer, and when answer, answer truthfully?   

Have you answered truthfully?  But as you consider your answer consider your brand.  Think about your presentation layer.  Think about your presence online, and the presence you provide in your resume.  Have you truly taken into account everything you bring to the negotiating table?  And if you have considered it critically do you present in such a dynamic fashion that you will absolutely BLOW THE COMPETITION AWAY!!!

The era has shifted and the promise of opportunity is rising.  Oh I know, it may not look like it just yet, but it is indeed changing, and changing for the better. Look closer.  In the Information Technology field alone the unemployment rate has been consistently below 5%, going even as low as 2%.  YOU CAN GET A JOB!  You simply must be ready to stand against your competition and guarantee your win, that you will be the candidate chosen to either Lock The Job, or Lock The Promotion.  Stop … right now … think and consider.  Look in the mirror and see yourself.  Know the image you see, know your own picture, define the truth of yourself and ask with utter sincerity, are you ready?  If you are not ready, then it is time to get ready right now!  Invest in 3FE: Lock The Job and guarantee your opportunities for the future.

3FE: Lock The Job – You Are Not Being Taught What It Takes To Get A Job!

This is very simple and straightforward.  You are not ready.  You have not been taught what you need to know in order to secure a job.  How do I know for certain?  This may be a generalization but I have yet to encounter anyone who is doing what I know needs to be done in order to get the job, or a promotion, not in today’s environment.

You are doing the old things, the traditional things, the general things.  You are doing what you have been taught in school.  You are doing what they told you to do in the job placement office.  You are doing what you were taught by the recruiters who said they can place you if you do this exactly as they say do it, the traditional way, the old way.

They are wrong.

That is a pretty strong statement, but I absolutely must make it.  They are wrong for many of you because their methods are the methods of yesterday.  You need to be utilizing the methods of tomorrow, to be ahead of what everybody else is doing today.

In a 21st century job environment you need to embrace the radical and stand out from the norm.  You need to effectively differentiate yourself in a powerfully positive manner so that hiring managers see you and consider no one else for the job.  You need your supervisor, manager, director and vice president to recognize you as the ideal and only candidate for the upcoming promotion.  From their interaction with you, and your dynamic presentation of self, those who have the power to decide, must decide in your favor. Unfortunately, the majority of you do not know this, and therefore are not working towards this goal.  You are not ready.

I’m not telling you to put on a clown suit and yell at the hiring manager.  I’m not telling you to act totally out of character.  I’m telling you to enhance your character in such a manner as to make you indispensable, the absolutely must have candidate.  I’m asking you to address the quality of your brand.

This is what you must do in a 21st century job environment.  Stand out.  Stand up.  Be seen.  And how best to do this?  Allow me to explain in brief.

These are the things you are not being taught.  The rest of the people out there looking for a job are no more ready than you are.  They lack the appropriate education just as you do.  However, they will catch up, and they will do so quickly.  Once they do, it will be time to innovate again, to figure out how to differentiate yourself. This will only make it harder for you. Don’t wait.  Don’t procrastinate.  Focus on what you need to do and ensure that you achieve Critical Success.  Ensure that you Lock The Job today!

3FE: Lock The Job – What Is Locking The Job?

The era has shifted and the promise of opportunity is rising.  Oh, I know it may not look like it.  But look closer.  In the Information Technology field alone the Unemployment Rate has been consistently below 5%, going even as low as 3.9% here in Georgia.  YOU CAN GET A JOB!  However, the critical question is whether or not you are ready?  Look in the mirror, know your own picture, define the truth of yourself and ask with utter sincerity, are you ready?

This blog is for those of you that are ready, and yes, for those of you that aren’t ready as well.  I’m an adherent of critical thinking, and my personal mandate is to be a lifelong aspiring critical thinker.  Lifelong implies that I spend my entire life learning, growing, aspiring to be better than I was in some way day by day.  I would recommend you do the same … especially if you’re trying to lock the job, be it a promotion, a new position as a lateral move with your current employer, or an entirely new job all together.  Or, if you don’t have a job at all, then this information is most certainly for you. 

Locking the job is the essential process for securing your employment objective. It requires that you execute certain specific detailed steps.  If you execute the steps as described there is absolutely no way you can’t win.  Yes, I am actually willing to guarantee that you will get the job.  You will lock it.  You will get the promotion.  You will get the position.  You will find employment. 

Locking the job is all about securing your employment objective through a process that is only as rigorous as it needs to be.  You will ask yourself critical questions.  You will do a fundamental self-assessment.  You will gather the information that best describes your skillset and brand it in such a manner as to be beyond reproach.  

You will look good. 

You will be able to express yourself like you never have before and make your personal brand shine.  Your personal brand is simply you and all the skills and abilities you bring to the job.  Locking the job is about taking that brand and differentiating it.  We will make you stand out from the crowd.  And when you do stand out from the crowd, you will do so in such a manner as to attract the attention of those that matter, those that make the decisions, those who choose who will and who won’t get the job. 

What is locking the job?  It is what you will do going forward in order to achieve Critical Success in your hunt for the right position.  And what is Critical Success?  It is the planned achievement of something urgent and essential, utilizing careful planning and judgment for the express purpose of attaining personal prosperity.  Join the journey.  Learn what is required.  Lock the job!
